Our link-church in Uganda

Since June of 2007 we have a had a link-church, St. John’s, Nyakaina, in the Anglican diocese of North Kigezi, Uganda. The link was made when the current vicar visited Uganda on a mission trip with Mission Direct. We maintain links with the church normally via mobile phone.

The vicar of St. John’s is Rev’d Canon Geoffrey Kakooko. He is also the missioner for the diocese. Geoffrey is married to Eunice and they have six children.

St. Johns’ is a large church with a congregation of some 250 members. We have assisted them with much needed funds for repairs to their church building, most pressing of which was their leaking roof.

They are committed to sharing their faith in Jesus with the people of that region and hold regular mission services.
