Parish of Billingham St. Luke

Alpha Course at St Luke

What is the meaning of life?

Why are we here? Who is Jesus? Is there life after death? What about suffering? Do all religions lead to God? Who is God? Does God even exist? These questions and many more, including your own, are addressed in the Alpha course.

We meet one evening per week and begin each session with a light meal together. Alpha is an opportunity to ask questions and listen to others. Each session includes a talk about some aspect of the Christian faith.

Over tea or coffee you have the chance to discuss what you’ve heard. No questions are regarded as too simple or to hostile. There is no pressure, and if you decide not to continue with the course no one will hound you to come back. Alpha is free, but you may contribute to the cost of the meals if you wish.
