Parish of Billingham St. Luke

Getting Involved

St. Luke’s seeks to help everyone discover their gifts and to use them. We want to help to equip people to live out their Christian faith 24/7 at home or in the workplace, not just on Sundays. And at church, many people are involved in the leading of the worship, reading lessons, leading prayers, teaching in Sunday school. There are various groups which enable people to meet to get to know others and enjoy using their gifts. There’s a banner group which creates hangings for the church walls.

Play an instrument? There’s a music group which helps enhance the lively worship of our wonderful Saviour God. They offer seasonal evening praise services which folk from other churches often join us for. There’s a puppet ministry team (including both children and adults) who provide engaging and thoughtful drama to help communicate the Christian message. As Christians we believe that Jesus heals today and we have experienced something of his healing power amongst us. Every week after the main service prayer ministry is provided by our prayer ministry team. In confidence anyone can come for prayer about an illness or some other concern they have and the team will gladly pray.
